Compass Oncology, the largest independent cancer practice in the Northwest, is excited to announce plans to construct a new, state-of-the-art East Cancer Center in Happy Valley, Oregon. This new facility, located at 12535 SE 82nd Ave, Happy Valley, OR 97015, at the intersection of Sunnyside Road and SE 82nd near Clackamas Town Center, is set to open in late 2025.

The East Cancer Center will occupy the former Bye Bye Baby/Bed Bath & Beyond building and will be completely renovated under the expertise of Clark KJOS Architects and Pence Contractors. The 40,000-square-foot facility will provide a full spectrum of comprehensive cancer care and will serve patients from both the Eastside of the Portland metro area and around the state. With this addition, Compass Oncology is further expanding its reach, bringing top-tier cancer treatment closer to home for residents in the region.

“We know from our many years taking care of cancer patients that they wholly benefit from receiving quality care in one location where their entire team is under one roof,” R. Scott Rushing, MD, MBA, a gynecologic surgeon and Practice President at Compass, said. “That’s why we are committed to building cancer centers like this new location on the Eastside of the metro area. “Patients also consistently express their desire to be treated as close to home as possible. With the East Cancer Center, Compass Oncology is positioned to be close to where folks live, whether in Vancouver, on the Westside, or on the Eastside,” Rushing added.

The East Cancer Center will join Compass Oncology’s two existing cancer centers, in Tigard and Vancouver, WA. During 2025, Compass Oncology is celebrating its 25th anniversary, marking a milestone in the organization’s commitment to advancing cancer care. With nearly 500 employees, 35 physicians, and 35 advanced practice practitioners, Compass Oncology treats over 9,500 new patients annually.
