Biography

Katie Wheeler is an oncology social worker and co-facilitator of the Young Adult Support Group. She comes to Compass from an acute rehabilitation setting, where she worked mainly with neurological disorders. Katie strives to meet the patients where they are at and walk along side them during their oncology journey; it is important to her that patients feel that they are not alone. She puts her energy into showing up as a whole team to support each patient and their community. Katie provides a safe space for patients to share and enjoys exploring their strengths. 

While not at work, Katie enjoys reading, hiking, fishing, indoor cycling, as well as spending time with her fiancé and their cats and pup.
