Dr. Windler was named one of Portland's Top Medical Providers 2022 by Portland Monthly Magazine.

Dr. Windler is a palliative medicine physician who initially trained in internal medicine and pediatrics. With his specialized training, he is able to partner with our patients to assist with the symptoms and stress that can be a part of cancer and cancer treatments.

His background in pediatrics gives his clinical style a warmth and laid-back feeling that encourages transparency and collaboration. He is passionate about connecting with patients, families, and the rest of the oncology team to build customized plans that focus on each patient’s individual needs, goals, and values. When you meet with Dr. Windler, he will do everything he can to help you feel better, understanding that it might require adjusting medications, modifying a treatment plan with your oncologist, recommending a procedure, and/or giving his patients the time and space to process their stories while providing experienced perspectives and empathetic reframing when helpful.

Outside of work, Dr. Windler enjoys exploring his transplanted home in the Pacific Northwest along with his partner and their pets (after spending the first 30 years of his life in the Southeast).  He always appreciates suggestions for daytrips and restaurants!
