Why is Northwest Cancer Specialists (NCS) changing its name?
We wanted a name that spoke more clearly about who we are and what we do. The name “Compass Oncology” speaks directly to the fact that when our patients are referred to us, they are most often lost and confused, not just by the news that they have cancer, but also by the many decisions and potential directions that are before them. Like a compass, we provide our patients with a clear path and direction to hope and healing.

Compass Oncology reflects our dedication to our patients and our commitment to guide them through a comprehensive treatment plan using the most advanced breakthroughs in medicine, while offering our sincere care and compassion.

What was wrong with the name Northwest Cancer Specialists?
We wanted our name to truly say something special about who we are and what we do. There are hundreds of medical practices and businesses that use “Northwest” in their names, and we found Northwest Cancer Specialists was difficult to remember for many of our patients and referring physicians.

Are you merging with another group or have you had a change in ownership?
No. Compass Oncology, The Northwest Cancer Specialists, is still owned by the same group of local physicians.

Are you still accepting our insurance?
Yes. We continue to accept a wide variety of medical insurance plans.

Is there going to be a change in staffing?
While we will always continue to grow and improve our staff, the name change has had no direct impact on our staffing or structure.
